I was really surprised by McCain's pick for VP Alaska Govenor Sarah Palin. I happened to catch her acceptance speech (see speech below). I am really impressed with her. She is real, sincere, smart and honest. I think that is a good combination. McCain really showed good judgement to choose a person who could help unite the country. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSlWHmB5YI8
As a side note, I found a blog that has been promoting her for VP for over a year at http://palinforvp.blogspot.com/ . The blogger is Adam Brickley and he did a segment on Fox News this afternoon. What an interesting guy. He is a 21 year old college student.
The Adam Brinkley segment is located at

A commenter on the web site said some informative things about Gov. Palin:
It is just amazing how all these liberal attack dogs who didn't know who Sarah Palin even was 7 hours ago are all now experts on her competence and experience.
As a former Alaskan, I can tell you libs that you're greatly mis-informed of the complexities of the job of being Governor of Alaska. Spouting the low population of the state when you speak about it only shows your ignorance of Alaska and it's complicated politics.
Alaska is a vast state 2700 miles wide and 1400 miles tall with 1/3 the shoreline of our entire country. It has over a million lakes, over 100,000 glaciers, it borders 2 foreign countries, has 229 Indian and native tribes who the government has to deal with, has America's main fishing industry with all the regulation involved, is a huge mining state, and is America's oil and natural gas capital.
The state has one of the largest Homeland Security response centers which is run in conjunction with the Governor and state gov't.
Alaska also has 3 army bases, 3 air force bases, and 5 coast guard bases.
All this with rough roads that need constant re-building, hundreds of remote villages that require schools, health care, affordable fuel and transportation.
Then consider the special interest lobbies that represent all these interests and their influence on politicians.
If any of you think running Alaska is like running a city the size of Austin (like a CNN host just said), you are grossly non-informed.
This lady is a dynamo, a reformer, and an amazingly talented leader. Anyone who is running against her who doesn't realize it will join the long list of former political foes laid to rest along the wayside.
