How do you give great advice-Five Keys
1. 1:05 to 2:00-Be Present-we need to pay attention to that person, be with them.
2. 2:00 to 3:05-When someone is sharing their story or struggles, acknowledge and appreciate their emotional reality.
3. 3:05 to 4:25-Ask intelligent questions. The right type of questions. The kind of questions that help them figure out their own situation. They talk through their own situation more. Socratic Method serves them the best.
4. 4:25 to 6:50 -People don’t want “the answer”, they want your perspective. They want to know enough of their options. Tell them their options. Tell them stories of what other did in this situation.
5. 6:50 to 9:10 -Tell them. "From my perspective, In my opinion, this is what I would do." Do it boldly. Not cocky, but be direct and relate your perspective with confidence so it helps install confidence in them.
