My college roommate from Iran, Saeed Motobar, is traveling back home for a visit and will stop in Amsterdam. I did the video recommending some museums to see on his stop there. Amsterdam is a great city.

Visiting with Friends

I had the wonderful opportunity to have dinner with two couples at Westminster Towers in conjunction with my Deacon role at First Presbyterian. They were very nice. It is very centering to spend time with the elderly. These folks are bright and optimistic despite facing declining abilities. There is a teamwork sense as these long married couples cope.

Mom and Dad spent their last years here and died only 4 months part after 56 years of marriage.

Sigma Nu college friend John Mahlman

My college fraternity at University of Tennessee was Sigma Nu. I graduated from there 30 years ago. I will alway remember my Dad saying to me: "You can join any fraternity but I will pay for Sigma Nu." Lately, a group of the fraternity members are reconnecting because there are two serious illnesses from our group at UT. We are also reconnecting to build a new house for the chapter which will be build next year.

I had breakfast with John Mahlman this morning. He is an airline pilot and had a layover in Orlando. It was great to catch up with him.
